Kind & Co. has commissioned a new forging press. With a maximum pressing force that now reaches 3,000 t, the ingots that are melted in the factory, can be more efficiently forged into round bars, flat bars and discs. This modern unit replaces the previous 2,000 t forging press that had since 1973, reliably produced more than 1 million tons of high-grade forged metal parts.
The more than 35 years of experience in the vacuum hardening of steel has made this process a trademark of Kind & Co. The new nitriding tempering furnace AN2 – with a batch weight of 7 t –was put into operation in August 2015 and operates as the perfect partner for the large vacuum hardening furnace VA5. In addition to a significant increase in capacity, this new investment offers the possibility to deal with very large or several finished components simultaneously & optimally, in an inert atmosphere. Due to the increased operating temperature of 850°C, annealing with any inert gas or vacuum is possible.
In February 2015 Kind & Co., Edelstahlwerk has been audited by Lloyd´s Register Quality Assurance according to ISO 50001:2011 for the first time.
Through the implementation of the energy management system we realize our energy policy and energy aims as well as the resulting measures. We oblige us to a sustainable, environmentally conscious handling with all inserted energies as well as climate protection. We produce environmentally friendly products by treating with care of resources and in respect of environmental safety. Our products are 100% recyclable.
As part of our company´s future-oriented further development, adjustments under company law have become necessary.
With effect from 1 January 2015 our company´s name Kind & Co., Edelstahlwerk, KG will be changed to Kind & Co., Edelstahlwerk, GmbH & Co. KG.
The legal form of partnership limited by shares will remain unchanged.
At the beginning of 2013 Kind & Co., Edelstahlwerk received a huge order for a set of toolings for several extrusion lines from a reputable German plant manufacturer. One of these sets included the manufacturing of two container for one of the biggest Chinese extrusion line with a power of 16,000 t.
In June 2014 the order has been successfully completed. The largest container in more than 125 years of Kind & Co. history have been delivered to the plant manufacturer.
